I think that to get the best performance, staying in the 4-6k range is the way to go. However, if you're interested in the longevity of the engine, keeping the RPMs down between 2500-4000 for daily driving will give you a few more miles in the long run.
BTW, what kind of difference in performance have you noted with the Dinan chip?
Thanks.
: Hi folks,
: I picked up my 87 M6 a couple months ago and am trying to learn the proper way to drive it. I've been driving normally at about 2500-3000 rpm around town. When I jump on it I take it no higher then 6000. I now hear the car is made to run between 4000 and 6000 rpm.
: What range do you M6 veterans drive drive yours in??
: Also, did having installed a Dinan chip change my redline?
: TIA,
: Tom
