: OOOOOOOOHHHHHHHyeah!!! Dinan says it takes the HP from 256hp to 298hp. It is QUITE noticeable. Although, running on 87 octane makes the car seem like I don't have the chip. I guess I'm answering my own question reguarding the fuel but I just wanted other's oppinions.
: Thanks John

: : : I just had the chip installed a week or 2 ago and heard its OK to run 87 octane gas with it. Has anyone had any bad experiences with this combo??

: : I have watched this site for a long time and have been helped many times by the information provided!
: : However, when it comes to a 10 to 15 thousand dollar M engine, I would call Dinan directly before using 87 octane gas in an M6, chip or no chip!
: : Just my 2 cents.

: : P.S. are the perfomance gains noticible with the chip?
diesel fuel will really make it fly!!!!!
The beautyfull person that installed the chip for you should have instructed you about the octane grade and the reason why Dinan(or others ) can obtain the HP gain!!ALL after market chips require that you use ONLY the highest octane on the market and this is the reason why BMW did not narrow down the octane choises for you...They did not know in what maket the car will end up in,and what grade gas will be avail.there.Like every thing else in life, the extra HP come as a trade off-HI octane gas ONLY.
