: Rust the ultimate evil, Ive got a 77 630 ive been working on, drivetrain is now sweet (3500cc 260horse, ultimate 262 tranny purchased from metric mechanic)but living in Washington has taken its toll on the trouble spots. i pretty much peiced this one back together form an auction purchase, the PROBLEM now is im going to repaint and the upper areas of the strut towers are wasting from rust, ouch. the other areas are totally no prob for me to fix but the towers scare the bejezus out of me.I figured i could rent a plasma cutter and remove the affected areas and replace them from a doner vehicle, i want to know if this has been done before, and if so any helpful hints. i know that for most of you rust means run away, but i love this particular car and i dont have to pay anybody but myself to tackle the job...........the amount ive put into the drivetreain alone i could have purchased an excellent 635.!!
