: I have a '78 633 which uses the cartride style oil filter. Does anyone make a spin on retro fit?

--------------------------------------------
The M30 engine typically is capable of oil pressures of around 100 psi on cold start-up. Evidently the oil passages or the oil pressure relief valves cannot bleed off enough volume to keep the pressure down to "reasonable" values. Hot pressure runs about 4 atm or 60 psi.

Therefore, even if you could use a spin-on, I would be loathe to trust a tin can filter to those kinds of pressures.
