Verify where the oil is coming from. I had a similar problem and it was coming from the infamous leaking oil pressure sending unit mounted at the rear of the head, near the firewall. Degrease and hose off the whole area and then startup to isolate the leak. A little oil can go a long way in the form of a drip!
