Valve seals and oil loss (archive)

I have a '83 633csi and the car runs great. EXCEPT...I am losing oil into the cylinders and need to replace at 4-500 miles. I have been told if its not on the ground when you are parking then it is burning up out through the exhaust.

The question: Has anyone done the replacement of valve seals on their 6 series E24? Is there a website describing how to do it? How long should it take? These valve seals are only $3 bucks each x 6...alot cheaper than paying for oil evry two weeks. HELP !!!
