Left Turn Signal Malfunction (archive)

I was just in the steering column today tyring, among other things, to remedy a malfunctioning left turn signal. The relay works fine on the right turn, but chatters on the left. I tested 2 wires: the green/yellow (13) and the red/blue (2) and was able to reproduce the chatter on wire 13. Wire 2 was dead. My question is this: where does wire 2 end? Am I correct in guessing that it needs replacement? All solder points and connections seemed to be snug and in working order. Who out there has fixed this before?? Any help would greatly be appreciated.
