: Need ideas on a brake upgrade. The stock pad/rotor combo starts fading after some hard driving. Is there a different pad/rotor setup suitable for a drivng school(1/2 hour track sessions). Thanx in advance. Chris in Traverse City

Chris,
Minimum upgrade for brakes should include, good quality rotors, PBR MetalMaster or equal pads,SS brake lines and high temp fluid exchange.
Quality of rotors are more important than slotting/drilling for min. track time practice. Fade resistance of pads and proper bedding of new pads/ rotors is the most important. New SS lines will help with pedal feel/ control and High temp. brake fluid will keep you from boiling out fluid and causing fade. You should be able to secure a good parts combination for approx. $300-$350, doing all labor yourself. All above changes will benefit your street driving also.
Good Luck,

Tom in PA
