You may want to get the book 'How to tune and modify Bosch fuel injection' by Ben Watson. It goes into detail on how to troubleshoot and fix fuel injection problems including O2 sensors, air flow meters, etc. Fuel pressure is the very first place to start. You will need a fuel pressure gauge with assorted fittings to test this. Check a BMW repair manual for the correct pressure for your car or check with your parts supplier for the recommended fuel pressure on a modified car. It might be a good idea to replace the fuel filter before troubleshooting the fuel injection system. Make sure the routine maintenance items have been addressed. Have patience, write down what you have tried, only change one thing at a time, and retest. I don't have any formal training as a mechanic, just what I have learned from other BMW enthusiast's, who have generously shared information.
