The problem is in the rotors, seems it is a known design fault. I have replaced mine twice (with new pads) and it still comes back after about 11k miles. UK solution is to use machined down rotors from 850i (I think it is 850i, can give you part number and details if required), which have different cooling duct arrangement. About to fit these and will use existing pads to change one item at a time to pinpoint problem area. Apparently problem has surfaced since asbestos was removed from pads, and it is also a problem on recent 7 series. Anyone know more?
