: Any help on a trany that won't go into reverse when cold. Is there a fluid treatment to clean the valves?

Hi Ed, Can't answer your question directly, but it sounds like there's more to your problem than a transmission service. On my auto L6, I had very hard shifting between 1 and 2 gears and real inconsistant. My fix was just simply a transmission service that changed the filter and flushed the lines with new fluid. As it turns out the filter was clogged and it now shifts smoothly, no more hard shifting. I did bring the vehicle to a independant Euro shop for the service and check out. If you haven't had a service recently, consider it as a first step. HTH.
