Chris,
Check the BCG FAQ on a detailed leather sport seat disassembly procedure (linked from http://E-24.org). The bolsters are essentially metal rods shaped to support the padding material. These are welded onto the seat frame at front and back of each bolster. When I repaired mine, I used JB-Weld (epoxy-steel resin) to get them back on and put a couple of nylon zip ties to keep it in shape while the glue cured. It worked just fine.
