I'll vouch for the fix. Had the exact same problem--given how hard I was slamming the door to get it to latch properly, I was seriously afraid of shaking the car to pieces. Slipped that little bumper on and voila, easy, smooth, BMW-like door closing.

: Peter@BCG told me a month ago about the plastic boot that BMW provides for the notched arm of the door latch. Look at the latch on the door and you will see that one of the two arms is notched. Go to the dealer and buy the plastic boot. You will be amazed at the difference - no more slamming the door. Don't understand how it works but it does.
