Basic differences are

1:less power due to emission reg. which require cats and de-tuning by the computer to meet U.S. emissions levels,

2:weight is added by means of a cat.converter and 5-mph bumpers that believe it or not add (I've read from official sources)add 200lbs. to the ends of the car (which is also the worst place for additional wieght{thus mid-eng.dominance}in racing)

So 200lbs.+cat.(40ish lbs.)=additional weight PLUS less power equals significant diference in POWER-TO-WEIGHT ratio. Follow?

BUT don't forget the availability of euro parts to U.S. parts is a big concern so do researce before you buy!
