I own one in N.Y. with 300k+miles and is still a beast! had to do a lot of minor restoration but that is part of the fun. Now for the bad news,
last year some 17yr old hit my front and insurance told me market value was only $3750.00 and repairs were $4k so I fixed it at a loss. But totaling it with all Iput into it would be a sin(the damage was far from being a loss)
However, remember that because thereis no "offical" book value, they(at least in N.Y.)base value on other "1977-630CSI's"in the area of like condition. I still wonder how they figured this out if there is no others around? Anyway value is probaly near what mine was valued at. I hope not because it sounds like you have one of the finest examples left so please!, I beg you, don't let this one go to shit, it sounds like a beauty! Mine has over 300k on it and runs as well as it probably ever did, a true testiment to german engineering!Happy trails.
