1979 635csi Alpina (archive)

I looked at a 635 today and am considering buying it. It was advertised as a 1979 635csi euro Alpina. Looking at it I think it may be simply a euro 635 with Alpina suspension, wheels, air dam etc. but the engine looks non Alpina. No evidence that it's anything but stock other that it is a quick car. Does anyone out there know if Alpina did this kinda mod?? I can't find much of anything on the early 6 series Alpinas??? The car is availabe for about 4k, it has some surface rust but looks good and runs well. 100k on the American odo which was apparently installed in 85. All papers are intact.
