Just put the wrench on the nut and hit it (the wrench) with a hammer. The nut will loosen. Remember that it is threaded backwards.

That's how I've seen mechanics do it...

: OK. So I paid a bunch for the humongous wrench necessary to remove the fan/clutch assembly, prior to changing out the cap & rotor. But my dumb question is: how do you get the shaft to sit still long enough to loosen the nut that holds the assembly to it?!? Thanks in advance for your help!
