Tim,
The coversion can be done easily and will look "OEM" when completed. I think there is some info on one of the FAQ sections someplace. I'll try to locate and post the results. The previous owner of my '87 635csi converted her to a 5 speed and all the required parts are readily available from a salvage vehicle and/or the dealer. The biggest expense items are the transmission, clutch and flywheel assy and driveshaft. All the related peripherals, foot box hardware, slave cylinder etc. do add up. I don't have the exact cost but the tranny will be the biggest expense.
