restoring leater seats/NEATSFOOT OIL? (archive)

How does slabbing on neatsfoot oil all over your leather
(that stuff you used as a kid to soften your baseball glove)
then letting it sit overnight, then wipping off all extra oil and rubbing down the seats in leather conditioner?

I use to use "Eagle of Ottowa" leather conditioner which is undoubtly the best smelling leather conditioner I've ever come across! However its becoming harder and harder to find, if you ever find it, take a wiff, its like perfume for your seats!
Does anyone with experience bringing back REAL SOFTNESS to their leather have any input???
I've read alls thats been said @ the BCG pages but wonder if Neatsfoot oil will do the job? If nothing else, I'll give it a shot and let you all know the results. And if anyone knows of another leath.cream that smells just as sweet, let me know!
