: What can I do to add horsepower and performance in my 83 633?

The cheapest and easiest way to add power is to replace the factory ECU chip with a performance chip. Jim Conforti is the man. His chips can be found at Turners Motorsports for $250. I "chipped" my 635 and it really made a difference! Secondly you could replace the stock muffler with a free flow muffler. A Stebro seems like a good choice, many people who have used them like them. They're not terribly expensive, are well made using stainless steel. After that you could replace the camshaft with a Dr. Schrick unit. That would be costly but would definitely give you more power! There may be an MAF sensor upgrade as well. I cannot speak to that as I don't have any experience there.
