: : I'm 2 blocks from work this AM and suddenly can't shift.
: : I limp it into the parking lot, pull back the boot and find that the bracket holding the shift lever has come loose at the front...

: : Does anyone know where I can temporarily scavage a nut to hold it on till I can drive home? Is it the same size as some other nut? Can I pull one off the shift tower or something? There's always bailing wire, but that's for Chevys.

: : The car's an 85 M635.

: : Thanks,
: : DD

Yes, to get it home I held the bracket forward with an open-end wrench and shifted with the other hand. It seems like the bracket is broken or something. I'll get it in the air as soon as wife and back permit.
