Thanks for the reply. Actually the two body shops did mention cutting out the rust and replacing them with fiberglass (if my memory serves me correctly). Even so, both said there's no guarantee that the rust will show up again. Can I ask what your cost was to repair the rust? The two bubbles under my tail light was estimated at $600 from the BMW shop. Yup, I think my car is worth the repair too. BTW, I'm in McLean, VA.

: My 83 633 had the same problem. It was very costly but I had all of the rust cut out and replaced some of the body panels. The shops that you are dealing with are probably going to sand and puddy the rust, instead of cutting it out. You can fix the problem but it will cost alot of $$$. My car was worth it.
