Shift points are different in sport mode and will feel "hard" if driven modestly, this car is MUCH different than the econo(aka no fun)528e and while in sport mode, the shift points are set to change at higher revs. Take the car out on a windy road and "get on it" in sport mode and it should feel "right", stomp on the pedal half way into the turn and it'll sing for you.
