2002 shifter in an 87M6...What parts will I need?? (archive)

Hi folks,

I'm hoping to find some advice. I hear 2002 shifters make great short shifts in the e24s. I want to attempt the project soon. I to all you short shiftin' veterans out there who have done this, how easy was it, and more importantly what parts you needed. If i go get JUST the shift lever off a 2002 will i have all that I need?? or will I be short on the shift project...pardon the pun.
