If you are referring to the "Servotronic" steering box, that did not appear (OEM) on the 635's til half way thru the '88 model year. I have an early '88 that is nonservotronic and have to specify that in shopping for the replacement box. The L6 may be different, but I wouldn't think so. Just an FYI.
