hole in floorboards!!!!!!!!!!? (archive)

Today at lunch I discovered that on my passenger side floorboard, there is a hole. It is covered by the carpet, so you can only see it from the underside of the car. When I push on the carpet from the underside, there is a not so funny bulge in the floorboard. Need an easy solution(nothing is easy on a bimmer) I don't want to go to a body shop cause they might screw me over on a simple(or not so simple) patch.
