If so, its because that leak getting into your glove box has been there for a while. Welcome to the world of owning an old car (whatever make it may be). sounds like you will have to first seal that leak, then take out the interior(time consuming but not hard) If you need to replace the carpeting it isn't that expensive or hard to find aftermarket quality moulded carpeting. I doubt you'll have to however.
