Justin:
I agree Dinan is expensive, although everything they make seems to be top quality and well engineered. I used their chip on my '85 635 but I decided to go with Eibach springs and Bilstein Sport shocks/struts (from Bavarian Autosport). The car sits really nice now (about 1.25" lower) and handles much better, but some people may think the Bilsteins are a little too stiff. Not for me; I'd recommend this setup to true gearheads. Soon I'm going to add a Racing Dynamics Strut brace and sway bars.
However, eliminating your self-leveling system may require something special that I'm not aware of. In that case, call Bekkers Import (800)624-5410; I just got their new catalog and they list special shock/spring assemblies for replacing self-leveling systems. Or call Bav Auto; maybe they can set you up. Good luck!
Larry
