deteriorating idle in M635 (archive)

The idle speed and smoothness in my M635 has been deteriorating over the past week. At first the idle speed was just dropping, going from normal of around 600 rpm to now around 400 rpm, and now it is getting a bit rough when I rev it up to around 1000 rpm in neutral. Car may have lost a bit of oomph too throughout the range. Thoughts? I'm thinking it might be a fuel pump issue.
