YES... It is the most exasperating thing to contend with. The worst kind of "intermittent" electrical problem to have to diagnose. My 88 635 does that now and again without any consistency to inputs or frequency of recurrence. If it won't fire up quickly on initial start; DO NOT keep cranking. Doing this only makes the sympton last longer. One thing that seems to work is to turn the ignition key on and off about 5 times quickly. Then it may start...if not; just wait a half a minute and try the on/off sequence again. Of all the fixes I have tried this seems to work fairly consistently. Pretty screwy.
