: According to the factory manual, the glass is attached with adhesive and must be heated (hot air gun) to be removed. I'm about to try this with one of my mirrors as well.

John, Just removed the mirror from the housing. Takes a very hot heat gun focused right in the center of the mirror. Got mine out ok. I also found out that the plastice trim piece that breaks so often is really part of the inside structure of the mirror. That is, it's just not a easily replaceable trim piece as it appears on the outside. You'll see when you get the mirror off. HTH
