For a little over $200, you should be able to buy "seatvests" from a BMW dealer. They are sheepskins that fit over the center of the seat, between the bolsters. They are comfortable in hot or cold weather and effectively "widen" the space between the bolsters (is that what you need?). I've got them in 2 cars and we love them.
