: : Anyone have any good inputs on Bilstein shocks vs Boge. I am ready to replace shocks on my 6 and am looking for inputs on ride vs handling.

: -------------------------------------------
: Boges will ride well and handle well at a very nice price.

: The Bilsteins will ride harshly and handle well at a higher price.

: I like Boge.

: If you want to save money, you can get Moroe GasMatics for 1/2 the Boge price. I wouldn't have bought them, by the PO of my 633CSi put them on and they are not half bad (surprise!).

I agree with Bob, with a couple of additions. The Boges tend to soften up fairly quickly, and then maintain a reasonable level of damping. The Bilstein HD's do ride harshly at low speeds, but damp really well at highway speeds, much better than the Boges IMHO. Bilstein makes a comfort shock for the E24/28 that I don't have experience with, but I was told that it is just a tad firmer than the Boges, FWIW.
