: Well, my 79' 633csi turbo has been running hot and it didn't get any hotter....until today when my temp light came on for a few seconds. I turned the heater on to draw the heat out of the engine which lowered the temperature a little bit. I'm considering a new oil cooler, will this help. Or should I have the thermostat checked. I know that of course the turbo is going to and heat to my engine. The thermo may not have been changed when the turbo was installed, I don't think they put an oil cooler on there either. What are some ways of keeping the temperature down? Someone mentioned "water wetter" , which would help, but I think that it's bigger than that. Thanks.....

Check the external clogging of the A/C condenser coils and the radiator itself. Also an aluminum radiator can clog internally if you use anything other than distilled water!!
