: no way you could go thru 2 pairs in 3 years. Defective Bil's are rare enough, what type of springs are you using? Were they stocks cut too short or were the "supplementary springs",(the rubber bumpstops on the piston shaft) removed? if so, the shock(s) could be bottoming out and being damaged, Bilstiens have a lifetime warranty(except N.Y. due to horrible pothole situation). My Bilstien HD's have 200k miles and haven't gotten any softer even though they go thru hell so I think it's something on your end.

A agree that something is wrong here! In stalled them myself with all the correct rubber bumpers and things. The last time I even replaced the upper strut bearings along with the shocks and they are still wearing out. My car has a short set of springs (type unknown) that lower the car about 1" and I made sure I got the shocks that are made for short springs... All to no avail.

I have talked to the parts shop where I bought the shocks and they told me there wasn't much they or I could do about the situation... They're suggestion was that Bilstein will rebuild my shocks for about $50 each which is cheaper than the new price but I'm not at all sure I want to play that game again!
