: : : I found out from the dealer that my 86 635 had a new tranny installed at 85,000mi. My car now has 110,000mi.
: : : I could not find out from the dealer if the tranny fluid had ever been changed. Should I change the tranny fluid if the fluid that is in there now it 25,ooomi. old or would I be asking for trouble(seal leaks, etc.)? if so should I use synthetic or regular?
: : : thanks in advance for the advice

: : Dan, change the fluid and use REDLINE SYNTHETIC ATF. I have had great success using redline in my 88 6er. Redline is far superior to anything else on the market.

:
: When I do change the fluid, how many quarts does it take?(at 9 bucks a quart)

Dan, Get I believe 4 quarts. You only need 3 point something(don't remember) quarts total. Make sure you change the filter(metal screen) and gasket. I believe you can call Eurasian Automotive Parts in CA at 1-800-824-8814. They sell it for $6.89 a quart. If you need to mail order I think that is a good price. My 88 635 auto shifts soooo smooth with the Synthetic Redline ATF Fluid. If you have any questions please feel free to email me.

Todd
