Pre-82 "eng" are more reliable. Buy a E28 car and convert over to a L-jet w/ harness, dist, ECU- That's it.

Pre-82 eng can be bore/ stroke to a 3.9L displacement, add MAF, larger injector, adj FPR- will give approx 290 hp.
