Newer 5 series has a larger "hub" that requires a very small adapter. I've heard of folks very carefully mounting their newer style wheels on older smaller hubs and it working, but why take a chance- get the adapter from tirerack for $3 bucks each. I use the composite wheels from the new 5 series on my M6, they look great!! But I got the adapters also.

: : Any one try this set-up? They are 2 pc wheels from a '99 540i. I am thinking they would fit my 85 m635 with the adapter that tirerack and others sell.

: I have a set of 98 540i brilliantline radial styling#32 wheels on my 6er.17x8 front and 17x9 rear They bolted right on with out the need for any adapters. They look and feel great. Will post pics when I figure out how to do it.
