I have owned an 87 and sold it to buy the "85" I like the fact that it does not have the extended center console with the rear ac. It makes the interior look more open.Mine has the sport seats which I would recomend.This one has a 5 speed which I like much better however,I would not rule out a superclean automatic. i believe"85" was the 1st year for abs braking as well.
It is true that the later examples have much improved rust prevention.So if you choose to buy an earlier example check the body carefully.
A friend has a 633 which he really likes.So I guess it comes down to this...condition,condition,condition.
If I were again in the market I would target price $10,000. and buy the very best I could find.
