I'm currently staying at my folks' vacation spot in Florida. My father, recently, brought his 6er down here to keep it permanently stored in the garage. I've driven it a few times and have noticed that:
1. the temp needle quickly passes the "twelve o'clock" position during stop and go driving.
2. the auxilliary fan does not come on, unless the A/C is on.

I've removed the fan sensors and made sure there was no corrosion. Bled system with heater on high=air should be out of system. When I idle the car and short the high speed fan, the temp needle holds at twelve o'clock. Relays K1 and K6 are in working order. My questions are:
1. why does the fan not kick on?
2. how to test for functioning thermostat. Should I remove it and try running without it(Car is only driven in hot climate)?
Any advice is appreciated. Replies can be made to mrbmw@sunline.net

Thanks, Pete S.
