: My mechanic replaced my AFM and says that the air throttle bodies need to be adjusted. He sait that this takes a special tool and to go to the dealer. Any ideas on what this adjustment takes or how it should be done?

: Do I need another mechanic?

If the throttle bodies are mechanically aligned (this takes a dial indicator and a caliper) a vacuum gage (I use a check valve in the hose to take the peak reading) is used to measure each throttle's vacuum. The air bleed screw under the anti-tamper cover is used to sync the throttles.
The AFM CO level can be adjusted by monitoring pin 5 (O2 sensor monitor) on the diagnostic connector with a DVM. I can post the Idle and CO adjustment procedure if someone is interested. The procedure for aligning the throttle bodies take pictures and is better explained with the pictures in the BMW repair manual.
