85 635 (archive)

I am looking at a 85 635, but I am not sure if I even want one. Actually, I want one, but I don't know if I want the trouble and repair headaches that they seem to bring. I know that this board is for solving problems and that is mainly what is seen here, but how bad are they really?

I do all of my own work, but I don't want to buy $900 brake boosters and the like. The car that I am looking at has a super straight body with original paint, near perfect interior, new struts, brakes, tires, and clutch. It needs a windshield - how much will that set me back with a new seal also? The car has 148K miles(real high to me) and he wants $5100. Keep looking?

Sorry for the ramblings of a 635 newbie, but I need to make a decision on this car(or any 635) before it is gone.
