: When driving the car with the A/C on, a lot of hot air enters by the footwell area. It still happens when its off. The air is extremely hot and has to be entering from the engine bay. Any ideas on what the culprit could be here..?

The heater valve(water shut-off) on your car is open. With your temp control on max cool the heater valve should have battery voltage on it.
If it doesn't the control has failed. If it dose the heater valve sticking open.
