Jo,
I would strongly recommend keeping the self leveling (I know I may be in the minority here). If the only thing wrong is the two bombs in each rear wheel well, then you should just replace them. They are normal wear items, mine went out at about 70k miles. If your pump is gone, eliminate self leveling, go conventional springs/shocks.
Good luck, e-mail me if you have more questions.

: I need to fix a big leak on the self leveling suspension that started this weekend on my 1988 635csi. I am leaning toward replacing the whole thigh with a regular set up and so far have seen a Kit by Brekkers for $450 and one by Bavarian for $115. It's safe to assume that the bavarian kit does not include spring and shocks as the Brekkers kit but then again I have no idea what is needed to eliminate the self-leveling system. What do you guys recomend? What is needed? Do you have to replace shocks and springs? Give me a hand on this one.

: Thanks

: Jo Toha
