I dont know too much about a crack that close to the engine, but just be careful in the rain. I had a crack just B4 the cat and had all kinds of problems when going over puddles. Something to do with the moisture getting in via back pressure. Not to mention incorrect 02 sensor readings to computer. my 2 cents. good luck
