I can take you thru the steps for an 83 633..(Disconnect the battery first) there is a thin cover plate on the right side of the inst.cluster it should be pryed out ,it is held in place with three smooth prongs, care should be taken not to break the prongs or it can not be put back..there are two phillips screws behind it that hold the cluster in place...then remove the glass cover plate on the check control panel to the left of the cluster ,its a friction fit with nubbins at the four corners ..behind the cover are 3 screws holding it in place remove them and the housing, disconnect the plug. There are two screws now visible holding the left side of the cluster..you will now have to remove the foot well trim panel held in place by four screws care should be taken not to break the pressed board panel attched to it, disconnect wires and remove or place in footwell..next there are two bolts holding the steering coloumn in place remove them and push the unit down to have some room to work.. you may need to remove the fog light switch as well,, i did not need to.place a towel across column so not to scratch the face of the cluster..remove the 4 screws holding the cluster ...place cluster face down on the coloumn and disconnect the plugs noting were they go back the only ones that are goofy are two that friction fit right on to the circuit board for the tach they are blue and white and are obviously behind the tach. after all is removed you can disassemble the cluster by removing the screws holding the back cover plate 8 screws..remove cover plate speedo and tack remain covered and si board cover is a moulded part of the back cover plate.. there are four places the board is plugged in a ribbon band at the top of the cluster a ribbon band at the lower left next to the yellow female plug and two pin plugs one 5 prong for the speedo and a ten prong for the tach. there is a black filler plug on the back side of the tach that also has to come out.. the job is really quite easy and should not take more than two hours to take apart and put back.. depending on how many others are adding thier two cents and how much beer is consumed ,good luck ed
