Jeff, I made the mistake of making a small cut in my shade to see how that sucker came out. Just pull on the endcap (real hard, its already broken). It will slide out the pipe that goes across the shade, then the broken hook (a separate piece) will be able to be lifted out of the slot in the pipe that it is in. I sure wish I would have known this before perfoming irrepairable surgery.
