The motronic 1.1 appeared in the 6er in europe at 6/87 but was made available for the US in the 88 model year.

: : You can get a 3.0 or another 3.3 but if you want the 3.5 or newer motronic 3.3 then you need the tranny as well. If you want a newer Motronic 1.1 motor you can keep the old tranny, cause it doesn't have the pluse/speed sensor in the tranny, it is located on the crank, but you need the whole engine wiring harness and ECU.
