: looking to make some subtle performance enhancements to my 85 635csi, but don't want to do anything too alter its essential character. option being considered: installing a chip. any thoughts? other suggestions? the car has 152G miles.

I just did mine with one from Dinan. I'm very satisfied. It's more responsive throughout the RPM range with no penalities. The instructions said I would need to use higher octane gas but I haven't noticed any pinging so I am still usihg regular and getting 24+MPG
