If you've got the new engine maintenance connecter, you need to ground pin #7 with pin #19. You turn your ignition to the on position (do not start the car). Then ground the pins. I built a device with a momentary contact switch so I could do it from the driver's seat and watch the status of the lights. I had to keep the switch pressed for just a second or two.

If that doesn't work, your SI batteries might be shot.
